Pros:It's The Wiggles
Cons:I can't sing along to that Irish song!
The Bottom Line: The Wiggles could make the alphabet song entertaining. Get Jeff some coffee.

Plot Details: This opinion reveals major details about the movie's plot.

Yes, here is another glowing review of a Wiggles video. The Australian sensation is gaining popularity in the United States as they enchant children, parents and care givers with their catchy songs and delightful dances.

If you don't know who The Wiggles are, you might wonder why their fans are so enthusiastic. Actually, my husband does know who The Wiggles are and also claims to wonder why.

A quick wiggly rundown:

The Wiggles are four grown men in colorful skivvies and matching belt buckles who sing and dance. Okay, I admit that description is a bit misleading. How's about I just give you a rundown of The Wiggles?

Greg Page- The tall lead singer wears a yellow shirt and can actually sing and dance simultaneously when performing live. Maybe he could teach Britney Spears a thing or two...

Murray Cook- The Wiggle in red is dancing with me...I mean...a guitar. He's our favorite.

Anthony Field- The Blue Wiggle is often spotted behind a child-sized drum kit. He's always smiling and dances with enthusiasm.

Jeff Fatt- Wearing purple, Jeff plays keyboards and accordion...When he's awake that is.

Wake up Jeff!

The video I'm reviewing today has the spotlight, or should I say night light on Jeff, the Wiggle who "is always falling asleep." The rest of the guys are forever encouraging everyone to yell, on the count of three: "Wake up Jeff!"

Thankfully, Jeff is awake long enough to perform most of the fifteen songs on the video:

We Like To Say Hello
Henry's Underwater Big Band
Having Fun At The Beach
Bing Bang Bong (That's A Pirate Song)
Bucket Of Dew/ Paddy Condon From Cobar
Wake Up Jeff!
Dorothy (Would You Like To Dance?)
Take A Trip Out On The Sea
Romp Bomp A Stomp
I Can Do So Many Things
Wave To Wags
Pipers Waltz (instrumental)
Goodbye Dance (mostly instrumental)
Can You Point Your Fingers And Do The Twist?
D.O.R.O.T.H.Y. (My Favourite Dinosaur)

You'll be wide awake...

As in all things wiggly, there is no way to doze off when the singing and dancing starts. Henry the Octopus, Wags the Dog, Dorothy the Dinosaur and Captain Feathersword are featured as always.

They are joined by the talented children dancing along to many songs and even a guest to share some Irish music. I have admitted to being able to sing along to some really silly songs, but Bucket of Dew/ Paddy Condon From Cobar ain't happening unless I have a few cups of Irish Coffee.

Wake Up Jeff includes familiar favorite songs as well as some comic antics and fun videos. We Like To Say Hello features children and adults of all ages waving...and saying hello of course. There is also a very Benny Hill-ish sequence later. Only clean.

In keeping with the theme, several numbers feature Jeff snoring away only to be awakened, or not. Besides the obvious Wake Up Jeff song, Pipers Waltz is an instrumental playing while Jeff is in bed, asleep in his jammies, feet sticking out.

"Jeff has a hole in his sock!" -Emily, 3.

As Jeff sleeps, Greg, Murray and Anthony dance around the bed, twirling and tiptoeing...umm...gracefully? All they need are tutus.

But wait...there's more!

Though the Goodbye Dance certainly seems to be the end, don't let those rolling credits fool you. Read the play list, there's more...

The last two songs were taped when The Wiggles were on tour playing to a packed auditorium. After a short rendition of Rock-A-Bye Your Bear to "warm up" before hitting the stage, they have to wake Jeff up. Again. Someone give the guy an energy bar!

Crowd pleasers Can You Point Your Finger And Do The Twist? and D.O.R.O.T.H.Y. are taped at the performance, making my kids that much more excited about seeing them live next month.

Our tape included a couple extra bonus songs, as do most Wiggles videos. Though they are meant as advertisements for other videos, the added songs are always a nice "extra."

Another wiggly thumbs-up...

The Wiggles could probably make singing the alphabet extremely entertaining. As usual, both of my children loved Wake Up Jeff! I also enjoyed it, particularly Bing Bang Bong (That's A Pirate Song). Seriously.

The colorful cast and variety of music encourages kids to get up and dance. Mommy can even get a bit of exercise too, though this Mommy can't keep up with The Wiggles or the kids.

Though there are few songs on this video that aren't also on others, I do still think Wake Up Jeff! is well worth having. In fact, you can click on over to Playcentric.com for an excellent deal on this and other videos from The Wiggles.
