armywife's Full Review: Two Mile Walk With Leslie Sansone
Leslie Sansone has been making a name for herself in the business of aerobic videos and at the same time she has been making the public more aware of power walking as an excellent choice in physical fitness.
"Staying fit shouldn’t be intimidating or expensive" is Leslie Sansone’s philosophy and her In Home Walking fitness program is proving it.
For many people typical aerobics is either too intimidating or overly strenuous. A walking program however allows you to get the same benefits from exercise with less strenous and jarring movements which for many means they can finally stick to a workout program on a daily basis.
Leslie has developed 48 In Home Walking program videos which she markets on QVC. Interestingly enough she was the first guest on QVC to ever sell-out a product. She has served on the Leadership Council for IDEA International Fitness Professionals and holds six certifications including theAmerican College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and Cooper Institute: Group Exercise Leader.
Leslie Sansone's 2 Mile walk video allows you to do the equivalent of a 2 mile walk within a few feet of space indoors. What makes this more enjoyable from a walk around the block? The FIT-O-METER, a graphic device that keeps track of your workout time, pace, and distance covered is a great motivational tool. An even better motivational tool tough is Leslie herself. Unlike your typical aerobics queen she looks much like the Mom next door. Her easygoing personality is really encouraging and for someone who may be just beginning a fitness program you will find that needed encouragement you wouldn't get if you were walking alone.
The 2 mile walk video is performed to up-beat music and paced at a speed equal to a 15 minute mile walk. There are no complicated dance moves but you will find it a more entertaining way to accomplish a 2 mile walk rather than simply putting one foot in front of the other. This video introduces the basic walk-in-place, heel touch and grapevine. You will not have any deep knee bends or any jarring movements and you are always encouraged to move at your own pace.
The entire video takes only about 30 minutes and is a quick way to get a workout in or supplement a weight loss program. Personally I lost 50 lbs using this video several times a week in addition to walking on a treadmill. While I enjoy the treadmill I sometimes find it boring and this is a great way to spruce up a walking workout.
Once you get hooked on the 2 mile walk you will want to expand your video collection to include many other of Leslie's walking videos. She offers a wide array of workout videos from the 1 mile miracle walk to the 4 mile Power walk. Currently she is marketing a collection of videos called "Walking off the Pounds" that also contains a set of weighted balls and recipe cards to enhance a weight loss program.
Some of her other great videos include:
40 plus workout ( a great video for seniors or those who are new to exercise or dealing with obesity and need a program to get them started and moving in the right direction...works well for anyone suffering with arthritis or any other ailment that makes exercise difficult)
The Miracle Mile
3 Mile Fat Burner
Walk and Firm (combines strength training)
Walk and Firm for Older Adults
Walk and Tone (using a toning belt)
In home walking vol 1, vol 2 and Vol 3
and many more!!
Through March 2, 2002, Leslie will be doing an online Weight Loss Walk program through her website. She will ask you to walk a certain number of miles per week using her video walks. Some days you will use the weights or belts and some days you will just walk! Included our Leslie's Walk Boosters which are her tips and insights on how to make a walking program work for you.
This program works especially well with Weight Watchers which I love! Leslie believes in Weight Watchers so much that she offers meetings at her own studio. The information in The Walk Diet on her webiste is a perfect companion to the Weight Watchers program!
I cannot stress enough how influential Leslie Sansone's walking tapes have been in my life. Having spent a lot of years failing at exercise routines and feeling that I was unable to keep up with aerobic videos I was delighted to discover a program that was reasonable, easy to do but effective. After having lost a considerable amount of weight using her program I can attest to its merit.
Although I have seen several of her videos at the library or in some major stores I would say that it can be quite difficult to locate these videos without a lot of sleuthing. The easiest way is to go directly to the source. Either order them off QVC or better yet pick and choose your favorites off her website at
www.lesliesansone.com
Don't forget to join her online walking diet program and you will be pleasantly surpised at how for the first time you may not "hate" to exercise after all!
