Why Meg Ryan left Dennis Quaid was a question I had been asking myself since the scandal of their break up hit the entertainment news. Being a fan of both I was devastated. Russell Crowe? Well sure, he's a good looking Austrailian and all but is he worth giving up Dennis Quaid? Then, I saw the movie Gladiator. Oh yeah, now I know why ole Meg didn't hesitate.
Okay, enough of the gaulking. Gladiator is a great movie. If you want a great hero, Russell Crowe's character Maximus is one of the best hero's I have ever seen portrayed. Watching the movie makes you want to be honorable, trustworthy, couragous, and loyal. I am so happy to see a movie with a hero, someone you really love and really pull for throughout the entire movie.
Crowe did an excellent job of acting, I wouldn't be surprised if he wins a few awards for this one. Also, the costumes and scenery were spectacular.
The one thing I didn't like about the movie was the gore. Be prepared for heads being chopped off, bodies slit in half, tigers tearing limbs off of people, crucifixions, you name it, they show it all. I watched most of the battle scenes between my fingers. But if you can take that, the rest of the movie is fabulous.
