Assure me you haven't given me the entire movie and I'll change this to an HR.

It would take much more than this to give all the nuances of this movie.

I left a few key elements deliberately vague; besides, the real pleasures of this movie are in the experiencing of it. The plot is sooooo simple that it's really not the main point of the film. I plan to see this again, and probably will get the video when available even though I already know the outcome.

I was more concerned that this wasn't giving enough details, so I was a bit surprised to see that you thought I was giving away the whole movie.

I thought the details were more than sufficient to pique my interest--I am intrigued and would like to see this as soon as my finals over! =) Thanks for a wonderfully written review!

This was a wonderfully pleasant review to read. (Reply to this comment)

I missed this film in the theaters so it will definitely be a rental in the future.

I do disagree w/ this statement, however, "Like many foreign films the plot is extremely simple." I would just say, "Like MOST films." I can name several foreign films w/ more than simple story lines, like Ran, After Life, Rainbow Trout, La Haine, or anything by OSHIMA Nagisa or JANG Sun-Woo. I would argue that most FILMS are simple. Not that simple is "bad," as you've demonstrated in your review of The Cup.

I look forward to reading your other reviews. Peace.

The comment on "simple" foreign film plots is actually meant as a compliment, as I find them generally much fuller in concepts and character development than Hollywood style films that attempt complications in either plot or technology and stay on the surface.
