I can sum this up in 2 words. MI2 rocks. Starring Tom Cruise as IMF Agent Ethan Hunt, this movie delivers almost non-stop action.
True, the story isn't all that good. Another madman has taken over a vital component of the world, and Ethan is sent in to take them out. What is amazing is the stunts and over-all feel of the movie. It was so enjoyable, due mainly to John Woo's directing, that I barely felt time go by. I walked in and I didn't even feel the 2 hours. Thats a good movie.
Basically, a scientist at BioCyte (literally Life Cell), has found a powerful new virus, Chimera, and its anti-virus, Vladmire (sp?). Our lovable villian, kills him and takes the viruses to sell. Ethan is sent in to retrieve the virus, and kill everyone that stands in his way.
Storywise, this is Dr. Seuss. Action Wise, this is hardcore. John Woo knows how to direct. Ethan even uses pistols John Woo-style (1 in each hand). No matter how crappy a film is, if John Woo is directing, you won't hear how bad the action was. And the action isn't only limited to guns, theres plenty of hand to hand combat. Even a little sneakiness involved.
The acting is.....medicore at best. Tom Cruise tries to act all cool and natural, but you can tell its faked. The villian looks like your typical one. Mean look, evil streak. I never saw him smile the entire movie. Even though the characters are cookie cut, it still lands a solid preformance.
Overall, I love this movie. 9 milla killas (9mm) can't be beat. And theree's plenty of them in this movie. I highly recommend this movie to anyone.
