When I got out of the movie theater after watching this one, I thought it was HILLARIOUS! You'll enjoy it more when you finally realize it is not an action movie but A SPOOF OF AN ACTION MOVIE.
I really loved the product endorsements (I think I saw "Hertz" like 4 or 5 times!) also Oakley, Apple Computer, that motorcycle, and whatever car he was driving. It was almost like the scene's in Wayne's World "...Nuprin, Little Yellow, Different..." They had to integrate some preety interesting scenes to make sure they got all those product endorsements off....
Some other things I loved were the one liners i.e. when one bad guy says he wants "Stock Options" in this company who has the antidote to some lethal virus they are going to spread.... I'm sure there were other, but I was laughing so hard that I can't remember them anymore...
Some of the scences were orchestrated with the utmost of comic brillience. (i.e. when Nathan Hunt blows open the door where the bad guys are, walks by the door looking all tough, and some dove comes flying in the room (....where'd that dove come from?)
The John Woo action sequences were COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY HILLARIOUS. At one point a baddie is pointing a gun at Nathan and Nathan runs full speed up to the guy, stops, does a backflip, and then kicks the guy in the face. What was that whole backflip thing for? Tom Cruise doesn't just give him the tolken "one punch KO" like the other action hero's...this is Nathan Hunt, not your garden variety action hero!
If you liked this movie, I suggest seeing other movies in the Comedy Genre i.e "Wayne's World", "Austin Powers II", "Happy Gilmore", and "Friday".
If however you took anything about this movie seriously, enjoyed the plot, or just plain didn't laugh till your side hurt, you may need to check your own pulse.
