The title of this epinion says it all. Now let me start by saying I haven't seen a new movie in a movie theater in months. My son is 14 months old. That explains why. So when my husband and I finally had a chance to go out on a Saturday night, for dinner and a movie, I was thrilled.
While dinner was great, the movie wasn't. It was opening weekend and I didn't have an opportunity to read any of the reviews yet. If I had, I certainly wouldn't have seen this one.
Keanu Reeves is a serial killer who likes to play with the mind of a police officer, who used to be on his trail in another city. Reeves' character actually follows the cop (James Spader) to another city and begins the murder and mayhem there. Spader feels he has no choice but to help local law enforcement. Sounds like a good premise but once on the screen, it wasn't. I thought the acting and script were poor. Surprising for Keanu Reeves. It was really hokey at times also, especially when the bad guy and the good guy drive together in a car and have a civil conversation. Really bizarre.
