Ok I have to admit, when I first saw a preview of this movie, I had absolutely no desire to see it. It looked very stupid, but then I heard some critics give it rave reviews, and while I don't usually listen to what the critics have to say, I thought maybe I should give this one a second chance. So I took my wife and went to go see it.
It's a very funny movie, it's full of dry humor and wit. If you've ever seen a dog show and thought those people were crazy about their dogs, or maybe just plain crazy, you were right! This movie mocks those people who are utterly devoted to their dogs. One of the couples in the movie went to the point that their dog pretty much dictated the way their marriage was going, the dog was traumatized after he walked in on them having sex, they even took him to a psychiatrist!
This movie is a mock documentary, It follows people and their aspirations for their dogs. It shows all the things they go through in getting and preparing for the show, but it's all hillarious. I recommend this movie if you are in the mood for a light comedy or if you are a big fan of Dogs, or maybe if you are one of those who likes to make fun of Dog shows, it's great!
