Plot Details: This opinion reveals major details about the movie's plot.
My girlfriend and I decided to rent this movie because it was a comedy...at least that's what it said on the box. Unfortunately, we discovered that the joke is on you for renting this movie. There is no humor in this movie at all, and it does not even try to be funny.
The movie starts sucking right from the beginning, it opens to a "rape" scene which later turnes out to be fake.
Everything progresses very slowly. Attention Shoppers was far more depressing than it was funny. It's about a loser guy who wants to be the next teen sex idol, but he isn't. He learns this the hard way when he does an opening for a KMart singing autographs, and nobody comes to get his autograph, save some old fogies. Meanwhile, his marraige is falling apart. Towards the end of his signing, he gets beat up. Then he goes home and recindles his relationship with his wife. Nothing exciting or funny.
I have to admit that after the first half of the movie I didn't pay a whole lot of attention, we broke out the scrabble board and played that instead, with the movie playing in the background. I want my money back.
