Plot Details: This opinion reveals major details about the movie's plot.
Hello, snatch. It's been a while...
No, no... I'm referring to Guy Ritchie's movie. Quick fact: Did you know that Brad Pitt volunteered to be in the movie?
You'll love this movie- I don't care if you thought the greatest movie was Tootsie or you're just one of those isolated freaks that whines about how bitter the world has been to you.
Well, it can't get any worse than Turkish's bad luck. No, no, not the nationality- I'm talking about an underground boxing promoter, Turkish. You see, his "jewel" is a hard-nosed, maligned boxer who goes by the ironic name of "Gorgeous George..."
Guy Ritchie shows off his movie-makin' abilities right from the beginning- I'm referring to the scene where all the characters are introduced. You got Benicio del Toro as Frankie "Four-Fingers"... rumors has it that he lost one of the fingers due to gambling. Oh, how he loves gambling, women, Las Vegas, casinos, money, diamonds, dices, craps, blackjack! Viva Las Vegas!
You also got Brad Pitt as "Mickey". As Gorgeous George found out the hard way... Mickey happens to be the greatest bare-knuckled gypsy boxer. Amazingly enough, Pitt did an excellent job in that respective role of a pikey with such a distorted 'accent' that on the DVD version, you can choose to have subtiles on for every time he speaks.
"Me caravan... no, it's for me ma."
Still, make fun of his poor grammar structure and you'll be next to have your jaw wired in place. It only takes one measly punch.
The movie is one fast-paced ride. Ritchie understands the psychology of the fact that the majority of audience today have a rather short attention span so you're not going to find any long-winded scenes in the movie.
What makes this movie a cut above the rest is the fact that it is a British movie, as opposed to a movie formulated (I use that term lightly) in America. Why? Because nobody, and I mean nobody does sarcasm like the Brits do it.
What makes this movie rather colorful is the diversity of characters in the movie- you got a ruthless boxing promoter by the name of Brick Top who, well, takes care of unwanted individuals by not feeding them to the dogs, but to pigs.
You also got a trio of men who have an uncanny ability to screw up every assignments in order to retrive a stolen diamond.
And in the midst of all this, Mickey got a boxing match to fight in while badly hung over...
Snatch- it ain't just a warm, sweet movie... it provides a refreshing change to the mundaneness of American flicks.
