After I enjoyed the cheerleader flick Bring it On so immensely, I was concerned that this satire wouldn't go over so well. However, I was pleasantly surprised, and a little remorseful that the film hit the budget theatres so quickly...

A quintet of popular cheerleaders, the A-squad, who do everything together--including their menstrations--band together to rob a bank to support their fellow cheerleader who is pregnant and totally broke.

The jokes are almost constant here, many of them slight little puns and plays on words that you have to pay attention to catch, those who don't pay attention will miss out on some major payoffs.

Mena Suvari is the most recognizable member of the squad, and James Marsden schmucks his way through like never before, playing the do-gooder dumb jock better than most teen movie casts combined.

While original and funny, Sugar and Spice doesn't convince us enough that it's a satire like Drop Dead Gorgrous, does with so much ease, that some of the events seem out of place with the rest of the package.

Overall, Sugar and Spice is a wickedly fun flick that pokes fun at everything that is held sacred in subrubia.
