Rip off professor (Reply to this comment)
by LBPell
I ordered online and it said they were sending ebay and excel and all I had to do was return the advanced excel and I would only be charged this low intro price. They did not send excel. They charged by 189.95 plus 3 other small charges. When I called it said their operators were busy and go online. So I submitted my problem to them online. They did not respond. I went on vacation. When I came back I called and held on the phone. They said they could not give me back my money because now it was past 30 days. If they had responded when I called it would have been within the 30 days.

The service for the price is good (Reply to this comment)

I have had some similar mix-ups with all kinds of companies. From ATT all the way through to the US Government.
This does not mean they are scams or bad. It means that sometimes things happen. The initial review was made like 6 years ago and the company has probably grown and improved since then.
I had a generally decent experience with the video professor program so i cant say anything really bad about it.
There are not many options out there for basic learning of computer programs and these disks teach it in a pretty decent and easy to understand manner.
Video Professor has done something i wish would be done more often. Cheap and easy to follow instructions.
If it works for you then you pay and it is far cheaper than any college course or series of books it would take you to learn otherwise.

THANK YOU (Reply to this comment)

I had the online form filled in and all checked. I then began to search for a different offer to make sure I was getting the best deal and that is when I ran across your web page. So, THANK YOU for preventing me from making the same mistake.

I read what you said about the Video Professor. The same thing is happening to me. I was talking to AOL about my account and at the end they asked me if I wanted to order A Video Professor CD for Wondows. It was only $3 so I said ok. I didn't think anymore about it and then I got an Excel CD. Today I got my credit card bill and was very surprised.
Just wondering who you have complained to. Could you give me some addresses?
Thanks Pat

SMART PROFESSOR (Reply to this comment)
by aeronotair
This person has not only found a way to be dishonest and cheat you he keeps on doing it like a runaway train. Charged me for programs never ordered I sent email they refunded some money then started charging me again just afew days after telling me that I was put on the do not list. I guess that list meant do'nt listen to me when I say no more.Sent email back and told them again to stop.I also said that I would complain to any and all to stop the deceitful business of this company

The website seems covert... (Reply to this comment)
by bechandra
I went on the Video Professor website. I didn't want a free cd, I just wanted to know how much it would cost to buy the lessons for Access 2003. I couldn't find the cost. I could order a free cd, I could order online lessons...but still saw no cost. I could give them my credit card number (not!), and perhaps discover how much it cost to purchase one set of lessons, but after reading "wavespy"'s review, I decided I'll look elsewhere for lessons.
I didn't even order the product, but felt compelled to review the site!

Advertising is misleading (Reply to this comment)
by clay2005
I haven't tried the VP b/c I found exactly what the poster above did: their claim of "a free CD" plus S & H is misleading. Read the fine print and you'll see that you either end up paying $80 or so for the *3* CDs or you have to return something.
I may get this for my dad, but I'll buy the CDs from Amazon for $17.00 (Win XP, ME, 2000 learning CDs).
Shame on you Professor.

"Professor" THEFT or at least FRAUD (Reply to this comment)
by olgirl31
I took a survey & to complete it & get the free ipod I had to pick an offer. I picked Video Professor. I had seen his T.V. commercials & thought I would check it out. For just $6.95 shipping. I was wanting to learn how to set up a web page so i ordered Front Page. Then I see a debit on my account for $6.95 & 1 for $1.00 & then 1 for $69.95. All in the same week.I said well ok I orderd the CD & must have just missed the fine print about not getting to keep the "free" CD for FREE..(This has happened 3 times in 5 weeks). He is now into me for $244.00 & won't stop. I never ordered these CD's following my FREE CD so how do you cancel if you didn't order?? I am now having to change my account. Which means I have to change everything that is automatically debited to my account every month. I don't understand how this is not theft or at least fraud.WHAT PART OF THIS DEAL WAS FREE? FREE FOR JOHN WHATEVER HIS NAME IS MAYBE......... There are lots of things I would like to say but this is not the place but would like to speak with JOHN..."THE PROFESSOR" face to face or even on the phone would satisfy me. If he can tell me what I got for free he can keep every penny he got off of me. I am now filing a complaint with every office available.

Video Professor - no problems (Reply to this comment)
by wolfiss
I found the lessons to be very helpful for Excel and was impressed enough to order the set for Access. The rules were explained over the phone.
There were no "subscription" issues. I bought what I wanted and that was the end of it.
I have bought other Lesson CD's and the training procedures were the same.
I was completely satisfied.

deceitful advertising (Reply to this comment)
by po-d_witch
videoprofessor has managed to take over $200 from my bank account because i didn't take time to read all the fine print, and i was too busy to try my "free" cd disc when it came in the mail. they also continue to take $6.95 per month for membership that i requested be cancelled more than a month ago. web surfers beware of scam artists who don't bother to provide all information up front.
