I love Rene Zellweger. She is argubly the best actress in hollywood today. She is the movie. If you are a fan of her fine body of work, then this movie is for you. However, Hugh Grant looks dated and alligator-skinned. His fast pace of living is catching up with him.

Rene's accent is very good and her capture of English women is quite accurate. Gaining weight in a role and languishing in depravity is not her calling, but she carries it off well. I liken this movie to Breakfast at Tiffany's. The group of friends actually adds to the movie and placed well in the context of the plot.

The woman who plays Rene's mother is excellent. And I like the delayed happy ending. She gets back with hubby. I like the English flavor of the movie without rubbing it in your nose. The only one suffering from Mad Cow Disease in this movie is Hugh Grant. He is a bore and ready to put to sleep.

If you like Rene, then I recommend the fare, but beware the decline of Grant as an actor and a force in Hollywood.
