Plot Details: This opinion reveals major details about the movie's plot.
I remember my recent trip to Vegas and would like to go again, I just hope that I don't have an experience like the characters in this movie. We recently rented this movie and got a few laughs out of it, but overall found it boring and were disappointed by the ending.
The Story
Donald Sinclair is a rich owner of what looks like The Venetian on the Vegas Strip, and he has a compulsive habit to bet on anything. He's arranged an unusual bet for him and some of his rich buddies on an unsuspecting group of people to see who can get to $2 million dollars faster.
Each group member has won a special coin in a slot machine and is then instructed to go to a nice lunch and hear of the race to the money, located in a train station locker in Silver City. He gives each member a key to the locker (with transmitter) and says who ever gets there first is the winner of the money. So the group sits there for awhile like dears caught in headlights and many decide it's a joke and decide not to participate...until they get outside the room.
The group consists of Owen Templeton, a football referee who's in Vegas on vacation trying to forget about a stupid call he made that cost the favored team the game. But, everyone he encounters on the way can't seem to forget. He travels mainly by bus full of Lucy wannabes he hijacked.
And there's also Nick Schaffer, who's about to leave Vegas after a bachelor party before he gets wrapped up in this race. He pairs up with a new female pilot and starts his journey in a helicopter.
Then there's Randy Pear, who gets caught up in the race while on vacation with his family. He tries to hide the race from his family while dragging them along and getting caught in many misadventures, including steeling Hitler?s car.
Then there's Duane Cody and Blaine Cody, con artist brothers who are in Vegas looking to sue a hotel for money with a new scheme they worked up. One is unable to talk thanks to a swollen tongue piercing. They mainly travel by car and get in lots of trouble on the way.
And there's Vera Baker, who's arranged to meet her long lost daughter, Merrill Jennings, she adopted out in Vegas after searching. Soon after they meet, they also get caught up in the race and mainly travel by car.
That's just scratching the surface of the amount of characters in this movie that you have to keep up with. So, here the main plot begins, who will get to the money first and how many stupid things can happen in the meantime? Do you care?

My Opinion
The overall plot of this movie was weak, basically acting as a vehicle for all the misadventures of the characters involved, which would be okay if it was funnier and more believable. I was looking forward to seeing this movie at first because of the impressive cast, but was disappointed with the joke of a plot and loony toon-like antics that just weren't funny.
Some of the antics included Lucy wannabes tipping a bus over and crying about it, a human heart on it's way to patient accidentally getting thrown out of a moving car and a dog getting a hold of it and the Cody brothers somehow end up in a monster truck rally. Yeah, it gets old after awhile and I found myself wondering were all this was going and trying to predict who was going to win.
There were too many characters to care about it was a little hard to keep up with them all. Some of the antics were so bad, they were boring and there was no witty or impressive dialog. But the biggest bust was the ending. This was about a group of rich gamblers betting on which member would win, but it didn't happen that way. The only reason I cared to watch the movie through was to see who was going to win after all the idiocy and, well, no one!
I would have to say don't waste your time with this movie, unless maybe you're with a bunch of friends and want something to goof on.
