I guess (Reply to this comment)

I found this film a lot more acceptable than yourself. I found the whole thing to be excellent brainless fun, and must admit that I perceived this as a lot darker than the previous two.
Yeah, the bodycount wasn't too high, but neither was the one in Halloween. Here, things just seemed a lot more malicious.
Oh well, guess we'll have to agree to disagree on some aspects. One thing undeniable is the high calibre of this review. Excellent stuff, again.

Flawed but worth watching over and again... (Reply to this comment)

I must admit, I rushed out opening day with my son to go see Jurassic Park 3. As much as I love to watch these movies this one left me craving for more.
With many flaws and some lack of creativity in some areas, (and Tea Leoni's bad acting) I felt like the movie should have been longer. It didn't end properly. I didn't like the opening story line/plot either. I did like the new dinosaurs and Sam Neill again. I wish Jeff Goldblum came back. I like his sarcasm.
Yes, the movie has flaws, but I will watch it again and again anyway. I will also go see JP4 in the next coming years. It's different than most movies. Dinosaurs amaze me. So no matter how cheesy the storyline, how bad the acting, or whatever flaws these movies have...I will still watch them.
Your opinions in your review are thought out and honestly true. Nice accurate review.
Even so, JP3 is worth watching.

You've barely seen the movie on screen and you're already plotting its DVD fate. I love it!!

Your terrific title is a good match for your reasoned, well-written review. The food for thought you've served is tasty, and the portions aren't too small. Thanks.

but I bet you can do the Randall dance from Clerks for me...
" I want to **** berzzzzzzerker....." ;)
Let's just talk about Clerks whenever another movie really blows. Just right in the middle of the commentary. Just throw in Clerks lines...yeah...

This was a sequel to Lost World more than it was JP, I would have rather have seen the title "return to Jurassic Park" been used, and if they must go to any island - go to the original one for gosh sakes! One idea I thought might be cool is if a huge team of people went into resurrect the theme park - restore it, recapturing the population - make it interesting.
OR: As the end of Lost World suggested - with the flying dinos shown in the very last scene - free I might add - that you would have seen more of what we saw in the T-Rex running amuck across town (which I admit, was fun to see)!
Like you're idea, having these birds running lose, the islands overpopulated... something! anything than what we did get.
Spielberg said he wants ideas for a fourth film, I say turn the tables on the concept - turn it on it's head, and I don't care if the same cast is used, why not? I'd like to see a mix of JP1, 2 and 3 actors used in the fourth - they are a great group of actors, with somewhat interesting characters - let's see them go one more round with the dinos, only do it right this time.
We've seen the ewws and the ahhs, now give us something to scare us, move us, make us think - geez, what if that happened to me?
Nice review, I agree with it a lot on all levels, this was a sad, sad excuse for a film.
- Steve =)
