Plot Details: This opinion reveals major details about the movie's plot.
I first heard of CKY (Camp Kill Yourself) when my friend brought in CKY2K to the class on "movie day". None of us knew what it was, so he was able to successfully dupe the teacher into letting us watch it. As soon as I saw Bam Margera, the star and brainchild behind the CKY series, sneak into Chris Raab's bedroom and slap him upside the head while he was sleeping, I knew I was in for a few laughs.
CKY2K, the second installment in the CKY movie series (which later led to Jackass on MTV) is an hour-long movie that is just nothing but crazy pranks, stunts, and skateboarding footage. All of the footage contained is amateur video done by either Bam, or any of his friends; Brandon, Chris Raab, Art Webb, Jess, Ryan Dunn, Rake Yohn, and so on.
The variety of stunts and pranks they do is enough to keep people entertained for a while; I must have watched my copies at least 30 times since downloading it a month ago (after losing it in a reformat). CKY2K certainly proves that nothing is too extreme or taboo, considering the "Hotel" scene: After an almost seductive bit of Iceland's sights with Bjork as the atmosphere music, it suddenly cuts off to a closeup of Brandon's butt... erm... pitching a loaf. You can actually see it come out, God help me. After this rather disgusting scene, Bran sneaks into the next hotel room over with feces-laden T.P., where Ryan Dunn is staying. He then proceeds to smear it all over Ryan's face. As a final touch, he places the dirty toilet paper wad in Ryan's ear. Later, they find Ryan awake and ready to, and this is a quote, "drop a f*cking brick on his head". He then sneaks back into Bran's room, where Bran is asleep on the floor. Ryan unzips his fly and lets the golden shower rain down...
But that's probably the most extreme incident in CKY2K, and if you're too squeamish to stand a little fecal smearin', don't get turned off by this. Just take a gander at these other scenes:
The Rental Car: To quote Bam, "Pay 9 bucks a day, you can do whatever the hell you want with a Rent-A-Car." What happens when you try to set the radio on fire, though?
The Bee: Remember when you were a kid, you'd catch a bumblebee, freeze it, and watch it come back to life? Well, Bam, Bran, Jess and Chris Raab found footage of them doing this when they were youngin's. The catch, though, is that they tied it to a string. Not so much funny as interesting.
Bran's Freestyle: My favourite part. Bran, who is known to be a "skilled linguist", freestyles in a Chinese accent about Chinese things (takeout, buffets, Hong Kong, karate, etc.) at a party. Really funny.
The Veteran: Bran dresses up as a one-legged wheelchair-bound war veteran who is eating out of the garbage, begging for change. The icing on the cake is when he so pitifully falls over and can't get back up, and no one stops to help.
Fat F*ck: Bam, in fat people clothes and wrapped in bubble wrap, goes skateboarding in a busy intersection. Watching fat people try to kickflip is funny.
Football: Kicking footballs at oncoming traffic is great. Especially when a dumb woman stops to yell at them for hitting her car.
The soundtrack, although not my particular taste in music, isn't too bad either. Containing such artists as Rammstein (for the introduction, really well done), Bjork, CKY (the actual band) and, of course Bran's freestyle, all the songs definately suit the scene that they're placed in. The editing, considered that it's all ameteur footage, is really well done as well. It's very professional, and the sound is co-ordinated with the sequences.
CKY2K is going to be one of my favourite movies for a long time, and has turned me to the tastes of amateur filming. I can't wait for the CKY DVD Box Set (with CKY, CKY2K, CKY3, and the CKY documentary), and I'm patiently waiting for Bam and Bran's full-length movie called Your Haggard Life. If you get the chance, for Christ's sake, GET IT!
