Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie's plot.
When I first heard that Apocalypse Now was being re-released with extra footage, my first thought was, Oh, dear Gods, NO.
After all, who amongst us Star Wars fans was more than a little disappointed with George Lucas's retooling? Did we really need to see a trimmed-down Jabba the Hut?
But upon seeing this masterpiece, my doubts were immediately quashed.
Fans of the original will get a complete thrill out of seeing additional footage which gives further depth to this psychologically damaging and breath-taking masterpiece. Audio commentary from Francis Ford Coppola and Martin Sheen, among others, take you further inside the "actor's studio" and into the mindset.
First time watchers will get also get a thrill upon seeing a young Harrison Ford and Lawrence Fishburne in the movie.
I'll admit that my proclivity to the film -- and its re-issue -- is because I've always been a fan. Overall, though, I'd highly recommend it.
