Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie's plot.
When I go to my local video store to find a movie to rent, I love to read the back of the video first to see if it sounds good or not. I know if it was like a page long of reading I would be bored of it, I want to know the general information about the movie and who plays in it. Don’t give me all the directors and special effects and etc. Just give me cold hard facts and I would love to read it!
If you are looking for a movie that has love, and happiness, but also has sadness then you need to check out “Life as a House

The movies starts out when Kevin (George) finds out that he is dieing. He is divorced and lives in a shake that needs to be torn down. He has no bathroom, and his dog is always in his neighbors yard doing his business. George’s ex wife is now married and has other children, but her oldest son is also George’s. He is a rebel teen. He has his ears pierced; nose and I believe his tongue was pierced too. His hair was outrageous and he was addicted to drugs. His mom wasn’t able to handle him, and he didn’t get along with his father.
George was a house builder, he designed new buildings and was doing good until the bad news that he had cancer. He didn’t know how long he had to live, but the Dr’s assumed it to be 6-9 months. So George wanted to make sure he made peace with his son before he died, so he decided to take his son home with him for the summer. Together they would be the dream houses that George always wanted to do. His son wasn’t thrilled with the situation, but his mother made him go. While they were living together George’s son tried everything he could to get his father mad at him. He took his fathers drugs, and he lay around the house and didn’t help work. Then he met the girl next door. He knew her from school and thought she was cute, so they hit it off great together
During the movie the challenge between father and son heat up. Finally George ends up telling his ex wife that he has cancer, and she starts to fall in love with him all over again. Her new husband figures out what’s going on and leaves his wife. Things start to change for George and his son, they soon began helping each other tear down and build the new home. When trouble arrives George’s son does something that helps his father out. So now they were able to finish the house. George’s cancer is getting worse, and his son is trying all he can do to finish the house.
The movie was kind of boring, but I did enjoy the story line and plot. I of course cried in some parts of the movie, I felt so sorry for the family and how they drifted apart and then came back together. It is a movie that can actually be someone’s real life drama. Imagine you are going to die, what would you do before you died? The ending of this movie turned out different then what I figured it would be. I felt that Kevin and Kristen and the rest of the actors done an outstanding job on this movie, but I still feel something was missing. The director done a great job, and the movie turned out to be worth the time I spent watching it, but I still don’t think it was one of the best movies out this year. I would still suggest you watch the movie.
