mountainhigh's Full Review: Walk Away the Pounds with Leslie Sansone - Super F...
Leslie Sansone is unsurpassed in my opinion on offering fantastic low impact aerobic exercise. I was first introduced to this superb exercise trainer earlier this year when I met with a group of other women every evening and exercised together.
What Does This Offer?
This is known as The Power Walk. This is a 47-minute tape consisting of walking 3 miles in which you burn calories and use all the 600 plus muscles in your body. There are 4 movements that you learn immediately other than your walking briskly and/or marching and anyone can learn these. This is not a dance routine nor fancy footwork and you only need the space of 4 steps sideways in front of your TV. The 4 basic steps are side steps, raising your knees, kick backs (stand with legs slightly apart and kick back your bended knee behind you in walking motion), and lastly forward kicks (just lifting your leg straight out). All moves are done while walking in place to the appropriate warm up beat music then moving on to faster music then the super fat burning paced music and then the cool down.
During this time, there is a walking meter at the bottom of the screen that will show up after every 1/2 mile to let you know how far you are along and it is unbelievable how fast time goes.
You have quite a selection of how intense you want to make your moves such as raising your legs higher or bending deeper on your side ways steps or how hard you want to work your arms.
Equipment?
During the last 1-1/2 miles, 2-pound toner balls are used in each hand to increase intensity. I first used 2 pound canned beans until I bought the toner balls. Its amazing what this adds to your workout. Of course Leslie makes it known that this is "your workout" and you can modify it and decrease the intensity just by following one of her exercisers. You can choose to purchase her "Walk Away Weights", use your own 2-pound dumbbells, buy 2 pound toner balls or just exercise without any weights. Remember, it's your workout; you cannot do anything wrong here.
Who is This For?
There are a variety of ages with beginners to more advance in this tape.
What I really like is there are 8 people on the tape other than Leslie. The exercisers are as follows:
Leslie Sansone: The Instructor
Beth: The one who modifies the moves for beginners working up to higher intensity or for those who are not ever interested in higher intensity. Doing the modified moves still makes for a great workout, as Leslie will tell you. Beth is not thin and makes you feel like you are not way behind.
Jody: The gal who just had a baby 5 months prior. She is very energetic and really gets into the moves.
Karen, Genee, Adria: The three younger gals who are nice and toned which is our ultimate goal.
Deb: A lady that is 51 with 3 adult children who is an inspiration to me.
Tara: Another close to beginner who works hard in wanting to increase her endurance.
Randy: A man who must be in his 60's is definitely an inspiration to all of us. He also does not use the toner balls for those who chose not to use them.
The time goes by so quickly when you exercise and Leslie and her exercisers keep you motivated. As soon as I finish one arm movement with weights, I feel like she knows what I am feeling since she always seems to say the right motivating thing. She seems to know what you are feeling.
Leslie Sansone does sell "Christian" exercise tapes and the only words/actions, if you are offended by God or Christianity, is she raises her hands to heaven to start the pull down moves and she talks about counting our blessings to be able to move this way plus she tells us that God knew what he was doing in creating us to be able to move. This, however, is not one of her "Christian" exercise tapes.
How do I Like It?
I own both the 2-mile and the 3-mile walk and I try to do both walks every evening making it a 5-mile walk. If I cannot do both tapes, I at least do the 3-mile walk. So this should tell you just how much I like the tape. The tape is not wimpy and you do start toning yourself and losing pounds.
I did however notice that there are two 3-mile Super Fat Burning tapes out made in 2001. They have different artwork on the covers, but they are exactly the same tape. One has a green cover and says, "as seen on TV" and one has a white cover with 3 miles in yellow lettering.
I had first gotten a Kathy Smith exercise video because I thought I wanted one with music that I knew, however you could not recognize the music and the moves were too dancy and not really exercising, so this did not impress me.
Like stated on the tape, can you imagine walking or jogging down the street lifting your arms up for toning and changing your feet into different positions for different intensities?
With this tape, you can take a walk whenever you like at whatever time you like with no worry about weather conditions.
If you do not like the instructor talking a little small talk and alot of motivation throughout your exercise, this is not the tape for you.
As Leslie says in her 3-Mile Super Fat Burning Walk Away the Pounds tape, "walk away from the dishes" and "walk away from the laundry". That is just what I did tonight!
One of three in high-spirited Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds set, Super Fat Burning is part of a unique routine that allows walking for exercis...More at HotMovieSale.com
