*******************REWRITTEN**************************

Before you read this review, you are probably thinking, "How are you writing a review on Slackers? It hasn't even come out yet." My answer to you is that one of my friends is Jason Segal's sister, and I watched it at her house.

Slackers is about 3 scam artists who have cheated their way through life. On one final mission, they make a slip up, and their only way out is to meet the demands of one Cool Ethan(Jason Schwartzman).

Anyway, this movie really made me laugh out loud. The performance delivered by Jason Schwartzman is nothing short of exceptional. He said some of the funniest lines I have ever heard in a movie, and just watching him was great. He was a blast to watch because he's nails the part of the goofy, crazed maniac so well. He has 6 toes, and he pees in the shower. It's great.

The plot and the writing of this movie were very clever. I really enjoyed the idea of college scam artists. There are so many scam artists, but you never really know that scene unless you ever knew one, or are one. This movie shed a nice light on the world of cheating.

The dialog was hilarious, and the jokes were sidesplitting. Each scene felt like a touch of genius. The acting was also amazingly good. Lots of young rising stars.

You see lots of teen comedies today, but none have measured up even close to Slackers. The humor is a lot more daring and outrageous, and it really pays off in the movie. In something like American Pie, they have a funny group of friends, but nothing that really bonds them together. The characters don't really share much in common except a friendship. In Slackers, the 3 main boys are all cheaters and slackers, and they're all really good friends. The girls are just dorm room mates and best friends. But at least the guys have more in common in my opinion.

Before hand, I didn't like Devon Sawa at all. I thought his acting was a joke in Idle Hands and Final Destination. He just wasn't believable at all. But, in Slackers, his performance is worth-while; he's good and funny and acts like the perfect scam artist.

This movie was also full of little surprises. I hadn't seen Michael C. Maronna since his starring role in The Adventures of Pete and Pete. The way he's developed as an actor was truly phenomenal.

Jason Segel is one of my favorite rising stars. Since he is my good friend's brother, I have been following his career ever since he played a small part in Can't Hardly Wait. I personally thought he was great on Dead Man on Campus, SLC Punk, Freaks and Geeks, New Jersey Turnpikes, and most recently the hit TV show Undeclared, but this, by far, was his best performance yet.

The 2 girl leads are also pretty good. You have James King (not a guy, the name is a little misleading), and then you have Laura Prepon (That 70s Show). James King is gorgeous, and she is great at playing the dream girl, because she is funny, smart, and kind. Laura Prepon plays the slutty friend of James King, is donates many laughs to the big screen. The advice Laura gives to James is hilarious, and perfect coming from the standpoint of a skanky friend.

Look, if you are in the mood for a classic comedy such as American Pie, or Porky's, you should really buy a ticket to Slackers, because I seriously don't think I've ever laughed as hard as I did when I watched Slackers.
