I have never heard anything about this series before my friend handed it to me 2 years ago. I requested for something less chick-flick with some actions and drama. I was not looking for something too romantic like some animes which focused too much on the romance.

Berserk was able to show everything that I requested for. The graphics are very nice except for the constant gloomy and dark colors. I have no problem with it because that is simply part of the theme of the show - Darkness.

The anime was set similarly to the European Kingdom but the story is not a fairy tale. It is more of a suspense.

It revolves around human relationships - mostly Brotherhood, friendship and loyalty. The Kingdom runs under the Feudal systems, and there are wars every where.

What I like about this show is how the plot was written. I do not think that it is that predictable. Some scenes are disturbing mostly because there are violence involved. Lots of actions but also some very touching moments.

It is not the typical Disney cartoon or Studio Gibli's anime. It is a dark drama in the form of Anime. The characters were well drawn, and the expressions on their faces were very very well painted.

Anyone who'd watched a Knight's Tale (The Movie) may find the first episode familiar but nothing is the same except for the "gladiator" scene.

Well this anime is not for those who hates violence or serious plots. I sat there and watch all the episodes for the entire Saturday night during Christmas holidays. I wouldn't do that anymore if I'd known about the story but then, I didn't want to ruin my opinions before watching it.

The only thing about Berserk is that it is short and one is left with questions after the last episode. There's no typical ending in this anime but I was not disappointed after watching it.
