Denzel Washington plays a father who takes over a hospital emergency room at gunpoint to make them give his son a heart transplant after his insurance company turns him down. I can sympathize with him after finding out my medical insurance will jump in price in January. They keep wanting more money, but provide less service.

John Q even makes the doctors care for people that come into the hospital for free. You want to applaud, but know that this is far fetched.

You know that in the end, the kid gets the transplant, when it opens with a woman getting into a car crash, and she rolls in at the moment John Q is ready to blow his brains out to give his heart to his kid. Predictable ending.
