Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie''s plot.
This movie has very good animation, a novel plot, and decent voice overs, but is a little tedious.
I love Ray Romano as an actor (he does the voice over for the main character, a wooly mammoth), it's a little strange hearing his voice on a mammoth. Although the part is cast well, I have to admit that a movie based on action/adventure that casts a mammoth in the main role is not all that exciting.
The plot is a little predictable, with the bad guy converting to the side of good at the end, and... is he really dead? I'll let you find out on your own, but I'll bet you can take a guess and you're probably right.
I was not a huge fan of the Sloth character. I found him a little annoying and not very essential to the story, as if he were thrown in as an afterthought.
This is definitely a story written with adults in mind. Although there is nothing overly unsuitable for children, some of the plot is based on adult humor (the sloth flirts with some sloth-girls in a hot-tub-like apparatus and the girls talk about finding a guy for raising a family...).
