The film was ruined by making it a Sandra Bullock vehicle. If Barbet Schroeder had been able to stick with the teens and put less emphasis on the detectives, it might have been darned good.

Bad (incompatible) casting? Poor direction? Misdirected/misplotted script/storyline? Incongruent actor character/role perceptions?
