Pros: Frank the dog, a snappy little dude, and this movie's only saving grace.
Cons: Stale, flat, impressive lack of new material.
The Bottom Line: If you like cute dogs, REALLY, REALLY like cute dogs, go ahead and spend your money. Otherwise, don't you have some laundry to do or something?
Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie's plot.
The first MIB was quick and punchy. This was just the opposite. Special agents "J" and "K" come together again to fight the scourge of the universe....yawn.
"K" has lost his memory and far too much of the movie is spent trying to find it. "J" has lost his comedic snap...and none of the movie is spent trying to recover that! My mother went to see this without seeing the first MIB and was totally lost. At least one or two minutes could have been used to bring the audience up to speed...the vehicle was there ("K"'s lost memory), but was wasted on sight gags....and not very good ones, at that (how many times can an alien have his head shot off and still be funny? Count em.)
A very cute pug makes a screen debut in a cameo role as Frank. Frank's part was plenty funny, he should have been given the lead. Maybe in MIB 3?
Lara Flynn Boyle, the evil scourge of the universe has plenty of evil and lots of curves...but no snap, no "ping". Her character is two dimensional, flat and incredibly dull.
The movie's heroine is beautiful and vulnerable....and one begins to wonder why she had only about 7 minutes on-screen...was someone afraid of being out-shined?
I won't watch this movie again, even on video, where it is destined to be heading at warp speed!
