Best of Season One is a three dvd set holding six episodes including the series premiere. This set is a great gift to scifi fans because it will introduce them to the world of Farscape, which ran for five seasons as a SciFi Channel original show.

Farscape Story
John Crichton is an astronaut from Earth who is doing an space experiment in his ship Farscap I. Something happens that sends him into another part of space, right in the middle of some sort of battle. He ends up being pulled onto a space ship of strange alien convicts who rebelled on their transport.
These convicts and John journey together all looking for a way to their homeland while trying to escape from the "Peacekeepers" a militaristic civilization in control of the area they are in. John and his shipmates go to all sorts of different planets and fight many battles while looking to get their lives back by finding their homes.

What makes Farscape a great series?
Each episode is it's own mix of drama and comedy as well as commentary on human nature. The series is interesting as a inferior human defies odds and conquers obstacles while adapting to his life in a very different universe. The Farscape universe is full of diverse aliens and worlds. The shows are believable but full of imagination. This is a wonderful series to watch and collect.
