The Bottom Line: This is an excellent way to get you started with Pilates. With the right kind of attitude, you can't go wrong with this video.

I have been using Pick your spot pilates for almost six months now and I shrunk from a size 10 to a 6. It's hard to believe this but I wasn't convinced either until I was able to wear my bikini for the first time without being conscious.
This video is very good for people who are new with Pilates (like me). You have a choice on what section you want to target:
A. Pick Your Spot - divided into three parts; abs, butt and thigh(10 min. ea). This is very good if you just prefer to work on a certain section of your body one day at a time. I chose to do whole three workout for maximum results.
B. Total Body Workout - this area is quite advanced but still manageable for beginners. Recommended for people who only have ten minutes to spare.
I find the routine simple and easy to follow. There's a lady named Betsy who also demonstrates simplified versions of the movements. Again, you have a choice if you want to follow the instructor or Betsy. The counting and the rhythm is just right - you won't feel rushed. Since most of the routines are not repetitive, you won't easily get bored. But if you are the kind of person who wants fast, quick movements, then this video is not for you.
Here are some tips I would like to share with you that helped me loose weight with CRUNCH Pick your spot pilates:
1. Stick to it - In any exercise video, you have to be dedicated. In my case, I made it a point to do Pilates 3x a week (20 min. x 3 = 60 min/wk = 240 min/month)I made sure I make time for it regardless of my busy schedule.
2.End goal - Always think of the end goal - what you want to achieve and why you want to achieve it. It helps also if you set up a mock deadline. This is a good way to make you motivated.
3.Do it right - I suggest you watch the instructor first to get a better understanding of the movement. You can pause and rewind anytime. You will know if you are doing it right, once you feel the burning sensation in your muscles. If you don't feel the pain, you are not doing it right.
4.Breath - Pilates is much more effective if you follow the breathing. This is the key to Pilates.The breathing and the movement goes hand in hand. You burn more calories this way.
5.Watch what you eat - No matter how dedicated you are, if you don't control what you eat, you'll have a hard time loosing weight. Throw away the junk foods, fats, sweets, etc. Stick to eating healthy foods.
I had a choice to do something about my body. And this is the perfect tool to get me going.
