Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie''s plot.
Sorry about the title. This horrible malady many of us have to do a play on words with a movie title. Maybe someday we'll find a cure.
2Fast 2 Furious is the sequel to The Fast and The Furious, so if you watched and enjoyed the first one, you will probably feel the same way about this one. If the first movie was unbearable to you, do not expect redemption with the sequel.
Basically 2 Fast 2 Furious is made for you to sit back, get comfortable, and enjoy the Thrill of speed.
Plot
The plot is hardly believable, but it's also hardly the point of the movie. The real plot is to have street racers hot cars on the road as much as possible, keeping the viewers thrilled. The "story" that keeps those cars on the road is pretty basic; A (drug lord?) has a bunch of money stashed somewhere that he needs somebody to bring to him in a hurry to the place where he's going to be taking off presumably in a private jet destined for nobody knows where. So by process of elimination, he ends up hiring two street racers out of many (who just so happen to be our heroes)to do the job.
Characters
Paul Walker plays Brian O'conner and Tyrese Gibson plays Roman Pierce. They are the two main guys, the main street racers. They strike a deal with the police (actually the Feds) to get hired by the bad guy to do a job, and at the same time help the Feds catch the bad guy. In return, their bad police record will be wiped clean.
Other characters of note are Chris "Ludachris" Bridges who plays Tej and Eva Mendes who plays Monica Fuentes. Nobody else is really worth mentioning.
The cars are the best part of this movie, followed by the setting. I love movies with scenery from the Sunny South by the Ocean. Maybe it's because I live here in Alaska, and I'm sitting right now in my little log cabin shivering a little, typing this review, yet happy as I look out my window and see my thermometer telling me that it has warmed up outside, all the way up to a balmy 10 below zero F.
But as I said, the cars were greatly improved in looks from the first movie. The girls are nothing to get excited about. Really. For a movie that is supposed to be sensual as well as thrilling, the girls have neither beauty nor personality OF ANY SORT.
Since fast cars are what this movie is really about, and they did a GREAT job of filming the action in that respect, this movie is worth watching. I watched it twice and enjoyed it both times.
