The Bottom Line: If you get a chance and would like to see a great suspense movie I suggest you watch A Woman Hunted.

Plot Details: This opinion reveals major details about the movie's plot.

Lainie Wheeler became dependent on prescription drugs to survive. She had taken pills to go to sleep and pills to wake up. She had to spend time in a drug treatment program and lost custody of her two daughters. When she was released she vowed to get her life back on track and to get her daughters back.

She begins her new start with a new job as a producer at a television station. After the first day at work she is driving home from work when she swerves off the road. She wasn’t familiar with the back roads and was trying to look at a map and drive. The rain is falling and the radio station is calling for a lot of snow to be coming in. She is stranded in the middle of nowhere when Harry Brewer pulls up and offers to help her.

Harry Brewer is a famous baseball star and was a guest on the television show that she works at. Lucky for Lainie he stopped by at the perfect time. Or so it seemed. He invites her to his house to wait while a tow truck comes to pull Lainie’s car out of the ditch. He tells her to be very quiet because his wife is asleep and has a headache.

Lainie begins to feel nervous as Harry’s mood begins to change. He tries to make a move on her and his advances are rebuffed. He becomes angry and rapes Lainie. A bitter fight takes place and then the unthinkable happens.

Lainie doesn’t want anything to happen to jeopardize her getting her children back so she tries to put this all behind her. One thing leads to another and soon she finds the police are after her. She knows that nobody will believe her story about the loved baseball star so she visits his ex-wife to beg her to tell the world he is violent. Marcie Brewer feels sorry for Lainie, but refuses to help.

Will she ever get her children back now? Is Lainie able to prove that her story is true? When the police are at Harry Brewer’s home what clues turn up that nobody ever could have imagined? What shocking revelations are found? Do things work out for Lainine in the end?

Final Thoughts:

My mom rented this movie from Blockbuster and thought that I might like to watch it before it goes back. We love to share movies with each other. I wasn’t sure if I would have time to watch the movie, but my mom really wanted me to see it. So I decided to just take the 95 minutes and sit back and relax with a movie. I am glad that I watched it.

I really enjoyed this movie. A Hunted Woman is a great suspense movie. It kept me interested from the beginning until the end. There were several times when I was on the edge of my seat or had my hands covering my mouth. One thing that I really, really liked about the movie is that it didn’t have any bad language in it. I didn’t hear one cuss word through the whole movie. That’s a huge statement I think considering most of today’s movies have a bad word every other word.

My mom had told me that there wasn’t bad language in it, nor were there scenes that would be terrible for my almost ten year old to see. From time to time I will let Aaron watch a PG-13 movie with me. I decided from my mom’s comments that it would be all right for him to watch. There was a scene near the beginning that he thought was a bit scary so he got up and wouldn’t watch anymore. So if you have a child that might be afraid watching something that is very suspenseful and somewhat creepy then you may not want them watch this.

I really liked the characters in the movie. I thought Alexandra Paul did a great job of portraying Lainie Wheeler. She reminds me a little bit of Sandra Bullock. I think she is an outstanding actress and I look forward to watching more of her work.

I will delete the following after the 18th.

I checked out Alexandra Paul's website and if you are interested in seeing this movie it will be coming on cable television in a couple of days. So check your TV guide and set your VCR.

A Woman Hunted premieres March 18th, at 9:00pm EST/PST on Lifetime.
