Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie''s plot.
When was the last time you didn't critique a movie, you just went to enjoy it?
This is one of those. It's a fun romp with Steve Martin back in full form as the dad who has had to tell his family after living in one place all their lives, they must pack up and move to a new city.
For those of us who have had to do multiple moves, it shows others what we go through.
The original story written by Frank B. Gilbreth Jr. and Ernestine Gilbreth Carey, is a true life account of their struggles with twelve children at the turn of the century. Clifton Webb starred in the movie made in 1950 and this one bears little resemblance except for the title and a few other details.
This iteration is just plain fun. If anyone goes to the movies for any other reason I'd like to be educated. I go to have a great time. I don't *want* to pick this movie apart for just that reason. So sit back and just let this movie show you what a huge family is really all about.
