I was fortunate to see a sneak preview of this movie and was very impressed not only with the acting ability of those involved, including Ben Kingsley, Jennifer Connelly, and Ron Eldard, but especially with the photography. You will see some of the most gorgeous sky views ever filmed. Fog can be so beautiful rolling in and out of the horizon. Most of the movie followed the book. The story is about a woman who wrongly loses her home over unpaid taxes that she didn't owe in the first place. It is purchased at auction by a former Colonel with the Shah of Iran. You feel empathy for both characters with the focus changing from time to time. I highly recommend seeing this film. Look for a small bug crawling up Ben Kingsley's neck during one conversation in his car. I've also never seen such a perfect bowl of red apples, not a blemish on one. You won't learn a lot about the Iranian culture, other than their taste in household furnishings is a bit on the garish side, but you will understand their predicament.
