Maybe it went through absolute zero and out the other side?!?!? :-D
If I'd been in a different mood when I watched this I might have liked it. Never mind, eh?!

The cold side of the planet was -300 Centigrade.
That was quite a trick. I wonder what happened to absolute zero (-273 Centigrade).
It's not that I disagree with you about what's good and what's less good, it's just that I weight them differently. So what if Crematorea cannot exist, it was still fun and looked fabulous. I just put my disbelief firmly in my pack, and went along with the roller coaster ride.

Hi Wasp!
It's not about ranking as such... "Top Reviewers" get better placement of their reviews, while Advisors (and CLs) have the "Most Helpful" button and their ratings appear higher up and have more "weight".
Does that make sense?!?!?
CaptainD
(NB - I used to have an Advisor hat in Movies but lost it recently, thus my lament of not having a MH button any more!)

that a "Top Reviewer" does NOT have a "Most Helpful" button. Is "Top Reviewer" ranked lower than "Advisor?" Or does only the "Lead" get a "Most Helpful" button anymore?
Incidentally I had the same problems with this film that you did and entitled my review, "Of Cradle Necromongers and Unlikely Meteorology."

and I 100% agree with Ander, I'd grant it about 3 stars. Ir was cheesy fun with the old charasmatic Diesel. Much better than XXX at least.

OK. After months of agreeing with you...
I liked this one better than you did. :P
Not a whoooole lot more. Maybe enough to say I liked it (as in would recommend it) but I had fun watching it. I liked Vin Diesel in it--though definitely not as much as I liked him in the first I liked him a good deal more than his other pics of late.
I did think the villains were cookie cutter ones and silly ones at that. They focused too much on the villains and not enough on the 'good' guys. Also Riddick seemed to have made too much of a shift into good guy mode...
Shrug. Definitely not a particularly intellectual film and definitely not at the level of the first but I had some fun watching it:P

Jack:
Hmmm... not too sure it's a wise idea turning the volume up, unless you can rid it of the appalling dialogue (nearly as bad as Matrix: Reloaded in places!)

thanks for sharing, Cap'n! I have a lot of catching up to do and will continue reading your reviews from the back up. Good job, but then again, I never expect anything less.
Peace!
