Pros:Fat burning, no floor work, 30 minutes
Cons:I really dislike lunges and squats.
The Bottom Line: 2-pound hand weights and 30 minutes of your time can really boost your energy for the day.

Plot Details: This opinion reveals major details about the movie's plot.

I have been using Leslie Sansone tapes for a couple years now with great results. I was nervous that the weight lifting would be more challenging but was very pleasantly surprised to find out how simplistic this workout was. The hardest part (squats) came early on.

Leslie Sansone exercise routines are all very similar. She takes some very simple core moves, then mixes them up. The exercises are done in intervals and you listen to her motivational talking while you're working out rather than focusing on what number rep you are on. The pace is very slow.

This DVD is 30 minutes long which makes it an ideal to stick in your day. I felt like I had a full productive workout when I completed this one but a shower wasn't really necessary. My legs are a little wobbly after using this workout more so than even the 4 mile workout.

I think this is aimed at anyone of any age or condition. This is a workout that an overweight or out of shape person would be able to do. Leslie is very careful with the moves that she chooses and explains in detail how to do each of them. You don't have to worry about coordination and getting the right leg going. You won't get left behind or feel out of control because it moves at a slower pace. The reps are short so most will be able to finish all the reps, especially after a week or so.

One foot is always on the ground and there is no bending or floor work. I know a lot of people have problems with their knees so I would have to say the knees are called on a lot but I didn’t feel any pain or strain while doing the exercises. Proper form is described on how to do the moves so that the knees are not injured. If I had problems with my knees I probably would have hesitated on doing the squats and lunges and probably wouldn’t have used the weights while doing them.

This workout takes place in an empty room. Leslie is alone in this workout so you just get specialized attention. There's no chit chat, jokes, or other distractions that sometimes become annoying after many viewings. I usually enjoy her uplifting thoughts and motivational inputs to put me in a good mood and although there were some, it wan't nearly as much as usual.

I feel the focus of this workout is on the butt and thighs. There were several reps of lunges and squats which after a few reps was very obvious to me hitting the target zone. Then the walking in place also working the legs. The arms remained at the side with the weights most of the time. I felt like the weights added value to the workout however I didn't feel like I had a full body workout.

I think that Leslie was accurate at reaching and maintaining the correct target heart rate. I loved how deep and full I was breathing and it was comfortable like a workout but certainly not out of breath. I could feel the calories burning.

One or two pound (max) hand weights are used for this DVD and not included in the purchase price. The hand weights are very inexpensive to buy at a store like Target or Walmart. The workout is a lot more challenging with them.

Not the best exercise video I've tried but certainly a nice change to just walking.
