Plot Details: This opinion reveals major details about the movie''s plot.
Summerslam is and always will be the second biggest WWE PPV of the year. This year was no different as the WWE superstars invaded the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
Announcers: RAW - Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler
SmackDown - Michael Cole and Tazz
Match 1 - SmackDown:
Bubba Ray, D-Von & Spike Dudley vs. Rey Mysterio, Paul London & Billy Kidman.
What a fantastic way to start summerslam. It was a great match from start to finish. Paul London does some amazing moves that I can't even describe. I also really like Spike as the boss of the Dudleys, he's finally getting recognition for being a wrestler not a comic.
Winners: by Pin-fall: The Dudleys. 9/10
Match 2 - Raw
Till Death do us Part Match- Lita Marries the Winner.
Matt Hardy vs. Kane.
I couldn't help but laugh all the way through this match, Kane's face is hilarious. Although it was quite a good match and both guys performed well. I still miss the days of the Hardy Boyz but Matt Hardy has proved to be a good singles competitor. Awesome Chokeslam by Kane to Matt from the second rope. Also Lita was looking hot.
Winner: by Pin-Fall: Kane. 8/10
Backstage: Randy Orton interview. Orton telling everyone he's the greatest etc. John Cena interrupts and mocks Randy Orton blah blah blah.
Match 3 - SmackDown
MATCH#1 in a Best of 5 Series for the U.S Title.
Booker T(c) vs. John Cena.
The winner of this match does not become champion. A pretty solid match, by no means the best match of the night. Cena is definatley better on the mic than in the ring. But still a good effort by both men.
Winner: by Pin-Fall: John Cena. 7/10
Backstage: Theodore Long and Eric Bischoff discuss brand strategy.
Match 4 - Raw
Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Title
Edge(c) vs. Chris Jericho vs. Batista.
A very entertaining match. The fans act very strange in this match as they boo Edge (from Toronto) and cheer Y2J. Batista doesn't really do much in this match and I don't see why he was even involved in this match. Jericho and Edge perform well and Edge plays up to the crowd using heel tactics like putting his feet on the ropes etc.
Winner: by Pin-Fall: Edge. 8/10
Match 5 - SmackDown
Eddie Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle.
The rematch from Wrestlemania 20 did not dissapoint, it was a 15 minute non-stop wrestling match. Kurt kept on going for an ankle lock, this hold would play a very big part of the match. Eddie and Kurt perform wonderfully and Luther Reigns doesn't cheat for Angle. Kurt Angle should be the WWE Champion.
Winner: bu Submission: Kurt Angle. 10/10
Match 6 - Raw
Triple H vs. Eugene.
I cannot believe why Triple H is facing Eugene, when he should be in a main event. Anyway, this is the funniest match I've ever seen Triple H in, when he tricks Eugene and the referee into thinking he has an injury and then knocks Eugene out of the ring his face is priceless. Also this match was actually good. Both guys perform well and once again the fans boo the face and cheer the heel.
Winner: by Pin-Fall: Triple H. 9/10
Match 7 - Raw
Diva Dodgeball
What was the point of this? I'm all for seeing the Divas but thia was stupid. The fake Divas were the only ones that wore revealing clothes and i was looking forward to seeing Trish and Stacy.
Winners: Fake Divas. 2/10
Match 8 - Smackdown
WWE Championship
John Bradshaw Layfield(c) vs. The Undertaker.
Undertakers entrance is the best part of this match. Although the match was solid, it was slow and boring, I expect more in a WWE title match. The fans in the Air Canada Centre were very entertaining though. I've never seen a full stadium Mexican Wave. Infact i've never seen a mexican wave at a WWE PPV.
Winner: by DQ: JBL. 5/10
After the match Undertaker bets up Bradshaw and then chokeslams him through the roof of his limo. Once again the fans amuse me by singing "hey goodbye" while JBL gets stretchered out of the arena.
Match 9 - Raw
World Heavyweight Championship
Chris Benoit(c) vs. Randy Orton
This was a great match. Both guys perform well and Benoit almost kills himself when he leaps out of the ring and hits the barricade. The match was very wrestling orientated but i enjoyed it all the same. It's a shame Benoit loses but what makes it worse is he loses it in Canada. I hope Benoit regains the title in the near future, or i hope Y2J becomes champion again.
Winner: by Pin-Fall: New World Heavywieght Champion: Randy Orton 10/10
SummerSlam was a great event. Despite what other people say, I really enjoyed it and wished the WWE would put on more PPV's like it. One more thing.... bring back THE KAT!!!
