I think it's the sort of movie best enjoyed after a few beers - or not enjoyed at all!! :-D
I often wonder how much your mood when watching the movie affects how much you enjoy it. There have been movies that I've mauled in my review but when I've seen them another time (not out of choice usually!), I find that I like them much more. Considering how much I like Zellweger it's pretty amazing that I disliked this one so much!!!

Oddly, I did like EofR for the fact that Bridget does get her act together by the end. True, my mind did turn to mush every time Colin Firth wandered onto the screen, and the fight scene was worth it, but it's not as painful to watch as most romantic comedies being made these days. Well now, I would never had gone near the books anyway - but even less so if they're worse than this film!!!
I guess it was just one of those films that I had to see for myself even though I suspected it would be awful.... (Catwoman next, maybe?!!? Though I don't know anyone sad enough to actually own it to borrow from...)

this one is pretty awful! Although to be honest, I didn't like the first one much either.
The only thing is, they are both better than the original book, which is truly terrible. I would watch both movies again, happily, rather than open the covers of that novel one more time. It's one of the most tasteless and boring things I've ever read. (But how do I really feel about it?) ;-)
At least you got a good review out of your watching experience!
