Intro
The final volume of the TV series portion of this series races towards us at a blinding pace.
The Story
In the final volume of Wedding Peach, six episodes hurls us towards the amazing climax. At the close of the last volume, Momoko was faced with a terrible challenge as she found out that her boyfriend actually had devil DNA within him and that the Devil World will stop at nothing to get him back so that he can fight for them.
With this volume, we are racing towards the climax. Within these six episodes we are faced with many challenges that the characters much endure including Momoko dealing with her boyfriend being a devil, Yousuke dealing with the revelation that he is a devil, Salvia wanting to kill Yousuke for being a devil and Yuri and Hinagiku trying to figure out where their loyalties should lie.
Each episode on this volume are absolutely filled to the brim with excitement as the girls face everything that the Devil World can throw at them, including four more Devils that are born from the flesh and blood of Raindevila herself and are not going to go down without a serious fight.
Each of these episodes however is merely building towards the biggest climax which is the ultimate showdown between the Angels and Raindevila herself. The fighting in this battle is fierce and definitely worthy of the wait that fans have been forced to endure to see this epic conclusion.
The Good And The Bad
This was the climax that fans have been waiting for and this series delivers in a serious way. Each episode is filled with heart pounding excitement and manages to stay fresh and keep itself from being too predictable.
The fight scenes in this volume are great and honestly there isnt anything to complain about here. Everything was done better than it has before and with the series ending cleanly and with nothing left open, it was a great way to finish off a series.
Music
Great music is everywhere in this volume. The background music in the fight scenes is very well done and really heightens the tension. The transfer is clean and I didnt notice a single bit of distortion within any of the episodes.
Also worth noting is the great music used in the transition scenes. There were some absolutely wonderful string arrangements used within this volume that I either failed to notice before or were never used (Im honestly not sure which is the case), but these definitely brought out the already heavy emotion in these episodes. Very well done!
Dub vs. Sub
Both the dub and sub track are very well done again but again I have to give the standout performance to Larissa Wolcott. She is once again forced to do some serious screaming within this volume and her vocal chords must have paid at least a temporary price to play this role.
Extras
Absolutely nothing besides the usual clean opening and closing animations.
Overall
This was a great volume that absolutely captured the essence of what this series has been aiming towards for the last 8 volumes. The fight scenes are very well done and the story sucked me in faster than any volume has before.
Generally when a series like this is over and done with, I leave with very mixed feelings. Sometimes I leave with the feeling that the ending couldve been done better or I leave with wanting much more. Sometimes I get really annoyed at how blantanly the series is left unanswered so that the creators can exploit it again in the future but more releases but in this case I left the series with a great sense of fulfillment. The series ended cleanly and no questions were left unanswered.
This is definitely a series that kids and adults can enjoy together and later on, re-visit for a trip down memory lane. Wedding Peach has proven itself to be a series not to be missed and after youre done, its worth it to add it to your pile of DVDs to watch again later.
