This DVD contains 5 episodes of the Inspector Gadget television show. The five episodes are from 1983, as shown by the first aired dates on the episode selection menu, which I thought was an interesting thing to be included on the menu. The show is about a human robot inspector called Inspector Gadget going on top secret missions to stop the evil plans of Dr. Claw. This is not any ordinary superhero, though, because really in the end he is a clumsy guy and it is his niece and dog, Brain, that follow him and make sure things go right. I like the aspect of the real heroes being secretly not Inspector Gadget, as it ends up being kind of funny to see the things Inspector Gadget unknowingly does that saves the day by accident. Plus, all his different gadgets are fun to see, especially his Hat Umbrella. Another funny thing that happens all the episodes is him always accidentally making the self destructing secret messages explode on Chief Quimby, who delivers them.

The first episode is called “Winter Olympics.” In this episode Inspector Gadget tries to stop Dr. Claw from ruining the Winter Olympics.

The second episode is called “Monster Lake.” In this episode Inspector Gadget is in Scotland. He is assigned to protect a scientist studying the lake monster, but instead ends up having to rescue him from Dr. Claw.

The third episode is called “Down on the Farm.” In this episode Inspector Gadget heads to a farm to stop Dr. Claw from using a missile he has stolen.

The fourth episode is called “Gadget at the Circus.” Inspector Gadget’s mission in this episode involves him taking on a bunch of circus jobs, as Dr. Claw tries to finish the Inspector off while in turn Inspector Gadget is trying to stop Dr. Claw from using the circus disguises to do evil things wherever the circus goes.

The fifth episode is called “The Amazon.” In this episode Inspector Gadget’s mission is to save the professor that invented his gadgets and stop Dr. Claw’s plan of having a gadget army.

Overall this DVD is a nice collection of Inspector Gadget episodes, especially with the added special feature of the original Public Service Announcements that go with each episode, however it would be nice if these played with the episodes they go with instead of separately. The DVD also has an interview with the show’s creator. The special features are kind of limited, but it is better than nothing.
