The only part of the movie I found a bit inconsistent is that the neighborhoods, homes and schools pictured were so neat and clean. Given the premise of poor NY neighborhoods, I would have expected more gang graffiti, run down sidewalks and buildings. Depicting such a contrasting environment would have made the kids success in the ballroom dancing even stronger.
