Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie's plot.
Writing this review, I am thinking about the blasting that this movie just got by one of my favorite Epinions sisters, Summer (http://www.epinions.com/user-lyoness913). She's an excellent reviewer and I respect her opinion, but we always seem to have a different one, which is why Epinions is such a great place to find out about products, you can find the good and the bad all in one place.
One such item that we bump heads over is the review of the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith. I saw this movie in the theater about a week after it came out. The hype on it was huge and it was extremely anticipated. I remember everyone in my shop talking about Angelina Jolie and how incredible she looked in the previews. Everyone was excited to see what would happen between this explosive pairing of actors.

The Plot
In order to keep from ruining the movie, I will give only minimal information about the movie in order to preserve it's integrity, as I always do. If you are looking for a more in depth review that covers every aspect of the movie, so that you can live vicariously through the reviewer, this is not your review... so move along little donkey... but if you want just enough to make an informed decision... please carry on...
The movie is based around a married couple, Mr. and Mrs. Smith (Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie), who look as if they have a completely normal marriage, but in reality, it is quite the opposite. They are both leading secret lives that they other is completely unaware of. Pretending to have completely different, absolutely normal occupations, the two are living lives as secret assassins working for competing firms. The marriage has been going through some trouble as they are both always gone, and the stress of trying to keep their lives secret has been catching up with them.
Not too long into the movie, they are both assigned to the same 'hit'. When they fail their objective, they are told to take out whoever caused them to fail. When they realized that they stopped each other from completing the mission, they will stop at nothing to kill each other.
The movie follows the couple along as they try to deal with their marriage now that they found out that they are each other's biggest enemy. They now realize that they don't know anything about one another, and that any move could be their very last.
The Acting
The acting in the movie was pretty good for the most part. You could really feel the intensity in the voices of Pitt and Jolie as they fought scene after scene. It seemed as if they truly felt the stress of a long marriage, filled with lies and secrets.
You could also see the strain in their eyes as the person that they thought they knew and love was now their biggest enemy. You could really feel the intensity and passion building the more they fought, and you could feel the excitement building.
The duo seemed to really play off of each other, pushing the other to make the scenes more intense scene to scene. All in all, the acting was very complete, the couple seemed to mesh extremely well together, and it looked very natural.
The script
The script itself seemed to be very well thought out. The movie developed at a perfect pace, keeping up with lots of action, while at the same time building upon this powerful relationship between Pitt and Jolie. The movie took some incredible twists and turns that you could almost see coming, but they would throw a changeup at you at the last moment.
The dialogue in the movie was more than enough to highlight the dynamic of the relationship, showcase the seriousness of the situation, and really give you a glimpse into the lives of these two individuals.
The best part of the movie however, would have to be the incredibly scripted fight scenes, especially at the end of the movie. The duo really seemed to feed off of the intensity of these scenes and made them come out extremely well. You could really feel like you were part of the movie.
Final Thoughts
While there are obviously some people that just don't agree with it, I found this movie to be filled with hilarious dialogue, incredible action scenes, and an intense passion that just can't be beat. The concept for the movie is a great one, that the director really took advantage of. I was hooked basically from the beginning to the end of this movie.
I felt that the acting was believable and more than adequate for the events that were taking place in the movie. The combination of the Jolie and Pitt made for an intensity that you just can't beat in a movie. While the movie was hyped up considerably because of the duo, it was definitely worth the hype, and I am glad that I fell into it.
If you are looking for a movie that has great entertainment value, will make you laugh, all the while making you grip your arm rests from the crazy action, then this is the movie for you. It's one of the best all around movies that came out of 2005 and it's still good to this day.
