A public service note (Reply to this comment)

For innocent folks who don't know what the deal with WilliamPinn is... He is indeed having a revenge-rating spree on Lammet, simply because Lammet is a friend of mine who dared to defend me in public (the same thing happens to other upstanding members who did the same thing).

"After director Joel Schumacher run the cinematic Batman franchise"
"The decision to go with a prequel was a conscious choice."
As opposed to being unconscious? How about a "calculated choice"?

I see the Pinn Troll is after you now, too. A natural thing to do since he can't make his rabid bites stick anywhere. He's lately been harassing Millinocket and George_Chabot as well. We good looking folks are too attractive sometimes! ;o)
At any rate, don't let the trolls bother you, bro. The community is aware of them now (and those who haven't caught on to this troll yet can click on the links on the Block List on my profile page and find out for themselves). We have your back!
Cheers,

You're right ofcourse Neil, one should ignore pettiness. At the time I was still a young epinionator and quite touchy.
You've been here? Expect a torrent of an email soon :o)

the markantony's of this world get you down. You know you did a good job - and so do I.
BTW, I'm Welsh too (although I'm no Christian Bale!), and I was fortunate enough to visit your beautiful homeland in the late '70's.

To: markantony - Hey! You stand out... (Reply to this comment)

...like a sore thumb; a sore reviewer, rather.
All 41 members who rated this review before you did found it 'Very Helpful'. And then you show up and rate it 'Somewhat Helpful'. Either you have strange standards or you are a sore reviewer who can't accept my SH rating on your WOTW movie review.
Funny though how my rating doesn't stand out amongst the other ratings your review got.

Thank you for your kind words and your confidence in my future pieces - I'll try not to let you down :o)
Do see 'Batman Begins'; it may turn out the summer's best offering.
All the Best,

Nice tip, Kurt, appreciate the link :o) Other than the four 'race' Batmobiles Nathan and his team also built 3 'special purpose' others - and a static 'interior' B-mobile.
The read confirmed what I thought: there's comparatively little CGI in 'Batman Begins'. What a contrast to stoooopid 'War of the Worlds'!
Thanks for the visit and comment!

Thank you for a terrific review! You have some fun descriptions, and it doesn't drag like some other long reviews. You exceed the quality of many advisor/top reviewer reviews! I'll look forward to reading your future ones.
This Batman movie looks more interesting to the prior ones in the series. I certainly wish I'd chosen this movie as opposed to War of the Worlds this last week!
It's apparent this movie actually has a story!

I was also impressed by the batmobile... (Reply to this comment)
by webguy
...as it appeared to be more a physical creation than digital. After some research, I learned there were four actual vehicles, built by Nathan Crowley for the film: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/batmobile4.htm
And agreed: the best Batman film to date.

Grazie Jim,
but I am frankly embarrassed by your accolade. What can I say? I hope future pieces will please you too :o)
Re 'Batman begins', I am glad my contribution rekindled your interest in the cinematic hero. Do see the flick, it's much more in the Frank Miller vein than the camp, er, camp :o)
Many thanks again, do you remember how important encouragement from experienced reviewers is to rookies?

Bravissimo (Reply to this comment)
by 29th_Candidate
.
It's hard to believe I'm only the first person to leave a comment on such a worthy and thoughtful review. If I didn't have so little respect for so many purportedly "professional" movie reviewers, I'd say this read like a professional movie review. Instead, I'll say this is the type of movie review I would expect from a competent professional.
The Batman character has been so thoroughly gutted by greedy corporate fatcats in search of a blockbuster-vehicle in which to plug in their one, pathetically predictable flick formula (i.e., household-name stars distracting special effects obnoxious hype meaningless action - plot/story = blockbuster), that I had long ago abandoned any aspiration to see a bat-anything movie again. After reading your analysis of the current bat movie, that lost aspiration and my enthusiasm have both been rekindled. Excellent.
Big kudos to you,
--29th (jim)
