When I saw the trailer for "In Her Shoes" I thought, this is going to be boring. I'm not the one for chick flicks or sweet lil sistery movies...I'm kind of a robot when it comes to sappy movies. But I've gotta say, I almost cried at this movie and that is saying something.

The story is of two sister Maggie (Diaz) and Rose (Collette) who love each other but at the same time can't stand each other. Maggie's the spunky pretty one who loves to party while Rose is the mature smart one with a job and a grown up life. Well all know the story, there's always a fight and they both meet somewhere in the middle.

But I felt this movie was different than most of these cliched sister films. I really felt I understood these characters. They don't tell us a lot about them, you just learn what you see, its like getting know a real person. There's no long expositions about their lives or boring explanations about anything. Nothing explicitely said and I felt this made the movie very engaging.

The acting is superb. Cameron Diaz is usually an interesting choice but she plays this quirky party girl perfectly. You feel for her even when she's being a jerk to her sister. Toni Collette does an amazing job as the "mature" one who transforms herself on the inside.

I think this movie would be fantastic for girls and any guy who enjoys a good story. There's no blowing up or raunchy bits but its a sweet story that pulls you in. You're in suspense about someone's normal life. there's no crazy hokey story. Its just like a normal day which is why I feel many people will feel touched by it by the time the credits roll.
