Oh My God! We've got this beautiful life and still some people can't find a blessing to be happy with! This is the premise that drives Saw II. The first one was gory, but this one even made me hide my eyes a time or two and I don't get grossed out very easily! I chose to wait until the movie came out on DVD to see it, it's a very emotional movie and I wanted the privacy of my own home to enjoy it. This is a movie that's rated "R" and for good reason! There is a lot of blood and a lot of 'ugly human behavior' to the script. The Director (Darren Lynn Bausman) takes you on a ride that reminds you how ugly this world can be when you forget that it's a gift to be cherished! Some are so hell-bent on proving their point that they will hurt others to wake them up. Locked away in a place of horror with death coursing through your veins and all perceivable exits seemingly blocked. If that isn't a nightmare in and of itself, then keep in mind that it isn't the creme of society locked together in this horror but those who we tend to ignore or veer away from when we see them on the streets. This movie reminds us that life is precious, but it also reminds us that it can be so very horrid as well when people stop caring about one another and start only wallowing in their own 'problems'. The cast of this movie do an incredible job of making the scenes real. I didn't recognize most of the names of the actors, but it didn't matter because they all performed like they were experts!! (Just for a listing of some of the actors, in case some of you are more versed: Wahlberg, Donnie G, Franky Knudsen, Erik Meyer, Dina Mitchell, Beverley Nappo, Tony Plummer, Glenn Smith, Shawnee Vaugier, Emmanuelle Burd, Tim Bent, Lyriq Bell, Tobin)
I don't really want to spoil too much, but you come to understand why "Jigsaw" does what he does. A surprise reappearance from a previous player throws a monkey-wrench into the mix and makes you wonder through the entire movie what she did wrong to be put back in there. Every time you blink there's something new to see. I highly do NOT recommend this movie for kids, it is entirely too graphic for them IMHO. I'm not even sure a faint-of-heart adult should watch this. But if you are a horror fan and the sight of humility, blood and wrath do not bother you then I would recommend this movie! Better than that, Watch SAW I first and THEN watch the second one. The movie flashes back to the original so if you haven't seen it, it might be a bit confusing. This movie moved me. I'm an easy going person who doesn't get phased by much, but this one shook my timbers. We indeed do get way too complacent in life and I hope we NEVER get so bad that only something like what happens in SAW II will awaken us again! I actually recommend watching it more than one time if you can because there is so much going on in here, you'll miss a lot if you're not paying attention. I don't see too many pausing this movie and walking away from it, it keeps you on the edge of your seat, mouth open, gasping and thinking, "Oh My God!" throughout the entire film. Awesome Movie!!!!!!!
