This movie lacked any real twist its pretty straight forward but an OK watch. The movie is about a guy , Harrison Fordm, who is the head of computer security at a bank and how his family is held hostage until he electronically robs the bank. The whole idea is just to generate suspense until the hero can dispense justice at the end. Harrison Ford makes it a fun ride.
On the other hand, the movie felt incomplete. The ending was anticlimatic. not my favorite Harrison Ford movie. But FIREWALL still manages to eke out three stars from me. The first half of the movie seemed interminably slow to me and it seemed the movie was heading for two stars at best. What redeemed it for me wasn't the reliance on technology such as cell phones, IPODs, and scanners. No, that sort of stuff usually makes my eyes glaze over. The interplay between Harrison Ford, in his usual Everyman hero role, and Paul Bettany, as the Big Villain, is what made this one watchable. Bettany especially impressed me with his very menacing portrayal. There are some rather large plot holes that I'm not getting into here, and an ending that comes across as anticlimactic, but these didn't competely ruin the movie-watching experience for me.
