Animals Invade a Housing Development in Over the Hedge
by dragonfire88 | Jun 08 '06
Pros: Good voice cast. Cute, funny, entertaining movie.
Cons: Missing something. One main character really wasn’t that nice. Predictable.

I'll still end up renting it - but it's nice to know I can nap through it guilt-free!

Your kids will probably like it more than you will. It wasn't horrible..it just wasn't as good as a lot of others.

Thanks for the comment.

I have no problem with weird stories. It usually takes a while before it really grows on me.

It has taken a while for some movies to grow on me too..even some non-weird ones.

Nothing wrong with a story that is a bit out there. :)

I think you'll like it for the action. The story is a bit out there. It does make you think.

Ok. I've been meaning to rent it since I heard it was out. Just haven't gotten to it yet.

The new Final Fantasy movie was okay, not bad and not good. However, when you see the action that takes place in it, then you'll understand what I mean about an awesome superhero movie. This one will blow you away just by that alone.

I saw the first Final Fantasy movie and was really impressed with the renderings. They were amazing. I haven't seen the new one yet. I need to rent it. I think you're right about them being about to do a good superhero movie. There would be all sorts of stuff they could do.

Another company that really impresses me is Sqaure Enix. They are the ones that made the Final Fantasy movies. I still say they could to an awesome uperhero movie with their realistic renderings. It would definitely expand on the world and character movements and do a lot of things that can't be done with regular actors.

I'm glad they are too. They make things look so good that the things - like monsters jumping out of closets or whatever - seem believable. And they take their time with their movies so the quality of the animation is lost. I've liked Dreamworks animated movies too, but it seems like they are more concerned with getting their movies out faster and never mind the quality.

Pixar is a great company and I'm glad they are still thriving like they are right now. Toy Story was a great example of how to make things move naturally. I remember we had to study that film exactly for that reason in animation classes. They make it look easier than it really is.

I've still enjoyed them mostly, but the Pixar movies are my favorite. They manage to make wonderfully entertaining movies that had developed plots and animation that is gorgeous.

The last animated flick I saw like that was The Incredibles and it was exactly that... incredible. I think all these animal ones that are coming out aren't appealing to me anymore.

Some of them are very similiar and there have been a lot out recently with animals. I'm really looking forward to seeing Cars. I do have high expectations for that one since it is Pixar. I haven't been disappointed in one of their movies yet.

Honestly, I can't make heads or tails between these recent animated flicks; they all look the same to me. And this is coming from the guy who knows animation. I think all these movies with animals is really throwing me off. Thank goodness Cars is somewhat different.

That's true. I hadn't thought about that. The gross type stuff was very minor in this one.

Thanks for the comment.

You brought out some excellent things in your review. I'm debating on taking the kiddie's to this one, some of the humor could get them in trouble in school if they try and duplicate it.
