What it is :

Actual HCG

HCG are letters standing for Human Choriogonadotropin, a hormone that a woman produces in their early stages of pregnancy. This hormone tells hypothalamus in the brain to start moving nutrients and fat into the placenta.  (hypothalamus is a portion of the brain that contains a number of small nuclei with a variety of functions the most important is to link the nervous system to the endocrine system via the pituitary gland. It is located just above the above the brain stem and is about the size of an almond) This hormone is suppose to help facilitate weight loss. I totally disagree. All this is suppose to suppress hunger. Please note that this brand does not contain the actual hormone. That is another reason to beware.

If you want something that has the actual hormone, look to the injections or search for other brands that do not rely on alcohol and sugar as their main ingredient.

The claims of being a potential weight loss supplement originates way back into the 1950's. You can get it through injections or drops that are placed under the tongue.

These shots were approved by the FDA for certain fertility reasons but not for weight loss and in fact there is no scientific evidence that it helps you lose weight. Why do people think it does help them? Let me elaborate on that.

Does It Work? 

Simply, no. Not on it's own, anyway.  When on the HCG diet you will be restricted a daily caloric intake of a mere 500 calories. WHAT? That is right. That is starvation. Who wouldn't lose weight on this diet IF you could even manage to keep that up without ending up in the emergency room. Right? Well, there you have it. That is why people lose weight on the HCG diet. People, it isn't the drops.

Actually, for me, there would be another reason I may lose weight on the HCG diet. Taste. These drops are pretty much unbearable. I'm sure there are those of you who would disagree but come on... your tastebuds are surely numb from putting so much HCG under them. Sorry. It tastes of strong alcohol (the rubbing kind) and something so bitter you nearly throw up. The liquid is dark brown. I just can't comment in any positive manner about these drops or the faux diet.

Other Thoughts

The weight loss from this diet would be a temporary thing. Any starvation diet is that way.

The drops are really not considered to be safe because of the side effects which include headache, fatigue, irritability, and rapid heart beat.

Directions for use:

Adults: Take 1 mL by mouth before 2 main meals, for a total of 2 servings per day. Shake well before use.

Note: Limit the use of caffeine-containing medications, foods or beverages while taking this product because too much caffeine may cause nervousness, irritability, sleeplessness and occasionally, rapid heart beat. 

Intesting enough, this is not their original product. The original was a clear liquid with a taste that was tolorable and appeared to be effective. They certainly know how to screw up a product.

There are documented cases where weight loss actually occured but only from the 500 calorie diet I suspect.

I may continue to add to this review as I feel it is not containing all it needs to but for now, it is what it is. I do not recommend this product. 

The product costs more than it is worth. $25-$40... all depends on where you are buying it.
