Very nice review, I could picture what you wrote in my mind. I have always wanted to go to the Caymans, maybe someday. Keep up the good work.Cougarlady

I've "done" Stingray City as both a diver and a snorkeler, and I highly recommend you do one or the other if you happen to be in Grand Cayman. As part of my dive package, I too did the dive, but a few years later, returned with my then 5 year old son to snorkel. There isn't much to the dive that you wouldn't see snorkeling, so if given the choice to pay to scuba or to snorkel, I'd rather you saved your money and snorkeled. Dives to the site a couple of years ago were running $65, where as for $30 you could snorkel among the stingrays. I too had fun on the dive, and my photos were incredible (lots of light at 25 feet!) Definately something to put on your "to-do" list!

Thanks for the great input!

Thanks, Marty.
I want to dive the GBR myself. I've heard it is incredible!

Yes, all you need is a warm climate. I started diving when I was 40-something.

My only regret is that I didn't start sooner!

I have always wanted to see this, and this or the Great Barrier Reef were my top two destinations for diving. I have heard of stingray city before, but you did a good job of explaining the experience - thanks!

Now I just need to read an opinion on Great White dives off of the GBR to decide which sounds better...

when I read your dive reviews (and ebolles's) I always wanted to do that, but never have. But good news.. I just checked and still have a pulse. All I have to do now is go somewhere where it is not in the single digits in temperature. Ice diving is probably not fun. I don't think there are any rays in Lake Superior, just trout and salmon, and they're not as cool !
