alofns's Full Review: Garmin eTrex Legend Handheld GPS Receiver
I got this mainly to use while on extended sea kayaking trips. I had never used a GPS before and found this one very quick and easy to use.
I have been Geocaching with it lately and find that it is extremely accurate. I use EasyGPS to import the Geocache waypoints, which works flawlessly. You need a computer with a serial port, or purchase the USB to Serial cable. I take the unit with me on business trips and do a little caching in the evenings. A great way to relax and get outdoors.
The basemaps are adequate, however I recently upgraded it with the MapSource Topo Canada series. For all around recreational use this is an excellent choice.
