Pros:Foldable, great sound; great mid-range response.
Cons:Volume control knob could be more responsive.
The Bottom Line: Overall I am very pleased with the RPHT46 Folding Stereo Headphones and I would defiantly recommend them to anyone looking for an inexpensive, decent sounding pair of earpieces.
As I alluded to in my review of the Toshiba Gigabeat MEG-F10K the ear-buds shipped with the unit tended to hurt my ears. So I went looking for a new pair of relatively inexpensive, but quality over the ear, but lightweight folding earphones. What I found at the local Circuit-City were the Panasonic RPHT46 Folding Stereo Headphoneswith volume control.

The RPHT46 Folding Stereo Headphonesare nothing special really, I mean other than the fact that they fold up rather neatly. The headphones are inexpensive, light weight decent sounding headphone wrapped in an attractive black and silver package. With prolonged use the headphones still feel light on the ears, whether they are sitting on top of my head or behind my ears.
Since I use RPHT46 Folding Stereo Headphonesexclusively with my Gigabeat in the gym working out, the ability to fold up and tuck away in a tight spacenamely a smallish pouch designed for a CD-Walkmaninside my gym bag is a must. That same pouch holds my Gigabeat, so storing the headphones safely is of paramount importance.
Despite the light size the RPHT46 Folding Stereo Headphonesdo a decent job at minimizing outside noises; the earpieces fit rather snuggly. The cord length is respectable, and because they are meant for walkman-type audio equipment, the unit does not ship with a 6.3mm adapter plug for use with receives.
The cord for the RPHT46 Folding Stereo Headphonesis equipped with a volume control knob which frankly doesnt do much for the headphones. In order to hear the music at a respectable level I have to turn the volume all the way up. Of course this varies with the particular CD I am listening to on the Gigabeat, but overall the volume level is acceptable, as is the bass level and mid-range frequency response.
Overall I am very pleased with the RPHT46 Folding Stereo Headphonesand I would defiantly recommend them to anyone looking for an inexpensive, decent sounding pair of earpieces.
