Pros: Informational
Cons: Not much to do here and drive here was boring.
The Bottom Line: Long drive to get there. I personally would skip this, I hope I can save someone else the time of the long drive to nowhere.

| froggie93's Full Review: Petrified Forest National Park |
My family and I just returned from a trip to Arizona. Lots of driving through Indian Lands, flat dessert and lots of it. We decided to stop at the Petrified Forest as part of our journey from Sedona to the Grand Canyon as this was our first trip out West. We wanted to work in all of the sites we could, the Petrified Forest was on our route.
It was quite a long drive and not much of a change in the scenery along the way. Upon arriving at the park and paying the entrance fee of $10.00 per car-load we briefly chatted with the parks personnel about the area (they are quite informative so ask lots of questions). We proceeded to the main building and took our time browsing the exhibits then we borrowed a trail map (kind of like following a miniature golf course around) and we read up on how the trees became petrified as well as why there are differences in color in the petrified trees.
It was interesting to see it was not what we expected but we did learn lots in addition to we would not go back. I think that someone with an archaeological interest it might be a bit more interesting for them. For us it was a long drive to nowhere.
