| jamij21's Full Review: Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park |
I have only visited Sequoia/Kings Canyon NP once, and it was about a year ago. But I do remember it was beautiful! I went during the summer, July to be exact. The crowds are nothing like Yosemite during the summer months. It was warm, but not blazing hot. And the meadows were still filled with wild flowers. The little day hikes were easy, and very maintianed. Some of my favorites hikes were Big Stump Basin, a one mile round trip hike through the forest of tree stumps. It's almost sad, but a beautiful hike. Crescent Meadow/Tharp's Log Meadow Loop, it's only about 1.8 miles round trip, but it is really easy. With the path being level and almost the entire trail having shade it's a great easy hike to take kids on. Also the caves were a really enjoyable activity to do. It's really beautiful and a great place to enjoy with your family. Check out the Wuksachi Lodge, that's where I stayed. The service was really good, the resturant was delicious, and the rooms were spacious and beautiful. It's an affordible lodge, and well worth the stay!
